Is airtel mms absolutely free?

I am in Chennai and been using airtel mms for free till now. But for the past few days i ve been charged 5 bucks per mms which i think is a bit expensive:-( . And in roaming they charge 10 bucks per mms. Is there anyone who is still using airtel mms for FREE? Also pls let me know which service provider has got the best mms plan for Chennai.
