Well i am using opera mini,it is very good at browsing the internet, but a major not cool element is the DOWNLOADS NOT SUPPORTED,and the fact that wap sites do not recognise that i use w800i

Posted by DeLa
Works very well on my k700. Nice screen to look at. Good job.

Posted by CrackerJack
Yup. Downloaded it into my laptop and then transferred it into my K750i.

Works like a charm.

What is the VERY LATEST version of Opera Mini??

Mine on the K750i is v1.1.242 and dated Nov 23 2005.

Posted by Ghostbuster
I have 1.2.2958 built 20060124

Posted by Ninja Dom
Thanks, I've figured it. I'm now on 1.2.2960.

If your version starts 1.1.xxxx then that is the BETA version. It has a different loading screen.

If your version starts 1.2.xxxx then that is the FINAL version..

First post here, been reading for a long time though. Awesome forum.

I downloaded the software yesterday on my k700i, it is amazing. Web pages look very good, as do the pictures. I also liked the navigation scheme (pointing the joystick sideways for page up/down).

I guess some people might not like the font size, as it is quite small, but for me very easy to read.

The only thing I noticed is the battery consumption, which seems to increase quite a bit.

I was getting unexpected error with ver 1.1 until I installed 1.2. No memory issues either.

All ways install stuff on your ph not the sim card memory is fine,

Posted by DeLa
Not all pages come through though. It sure isn't flawless.

Posted by Greggy
If ya phne can access wap2.0 pages why nt use skweezer.Net

Posted by BOSSHOGG

Opera mini horizontal rocks.... thanks!

so the new version 1.2.260 has a download feature??

Posted by nhs03
is it me or does the version 1.2 seem a little more slower? it seems to take a little longer to process on my k750

Posted by MDPA
well that could possibly mean a number of things maybe your browser cache needs empting and or cookies ect, there was a promotion opera had with the first browser, where you could pay them a small fee and apparently it would speed up the browser by using a fster gprs i presume, it might still be there somewhere might be worth having a look for..

I can't pull that up in my browser. Is the link right?

Posted by BOSSHOGG
What phone are you using? That should work fine, try http://rangers.wen.ru/index.wml

Yeah, horizontal is very cool. A shame you have to turn the phone to type though lol!

BOSSHOGG, thank you for sharing the Opera horizontal version with us!

I got it installed on my W800 using your link, and it works great!

It seems much easier to read web pages (like forums) in the horizontal mode.

In case no one knows, v105 on my site has a file manager as well. But it needs a million yes presses per folder. Learn the menus in that english version then use v112 which only needs one press per folder. Horizontal doesn't have any these features.

Posted by BOSSHOGG
I've added the black and blue skin versions to my site. I know black works fine, but i can't get a connection in the blue version. You can change the blue one to english in the drop down menu in settings(press #8).

Www.mini.opera.com download any language you need.

Posted by MDPA
mmm strange i cant get any of them to work on the p910i? i keep getting the same error for the black opera ,mini1.1 and mini 2?,
reason code kern-exec
reason number 3? would i need to uninstall all opera programs including 6.x.x

Posted by BOSSHOGG
Dunno if they're made for the p series? Did you make sure to tell your phone to use the correct account in connectivity>java settings?

Can anyone get the blue version to connect? i just wanna know if there's any point in leaving it there?

Posted by MDPA
i dont have a java setting in p910i connectivity, just controll panel connectivity, but no java option?

Its not fair !! :@ Opera Mini works on every1 elses fone except my new fone. . . (moto L7) . . . It worked ok on my Nokia7250i, cos i 1st downloaded it wen it was just from TV2.Norway. . . . It even works on my girls old Nokia3510i . . .I just keep getting error saying i've no network connection. :(

Posted by BOSSHOGG
I can't help MDPA, don't have a p900 to try. Any other p series users had it working?

It should run on an L7, I've ran it fine on an L6. There seems to be connection problems on 112 lately. Try black for now.

Posted by MsJ
on my L7 it says 'error in GPRS setup.java.io' . . its not just operamini that does it. . . its the same 4 any program that requires a network connection.

Posted by BOSSHOGG
Sounds like a settings thing then. Did you try changing your gprs settings from http to wap or vice versa? Don't really know much about moto settings.

Thank you for the reply stevemiddie, I really appreciate it. I'm going to download it right away.

Posted by BOSSHOGG
The official version has no file manager, but the ones on my site http://rangers.wen.ru have. download the english version to get use to the menus then get the russian 112 which doesn't need a million allow access prompts.
As for word, it's pretty easy to figure out mate, not too many functions.

This application is so wkd. I'm using it now to post this message. It's way faster than SE'S wap browser- i'm particularly impressed with it's ability to surf big websites and it's speed with navigating back to previous pages (it's instant!).

I noticed that the latest version 1.2 no longer keeps cache of the recently visited pages, unlike version 1.1 which has this feature.

Posted by MDPA
Shame no sony expert here can do a p900 series version especially the horizontal opera/mini version... Sigh!!! all the wasted screen space, an the thought of never seeing a horizontal browser " breaks my sony heart"..

Posted by MDPA
Sending out an SoS, and a message in a forumbubble" ohhh yeaaa
