Hello.

I wonder if someone can help in solving me this problem.

I installed the PC Suite and Disc2phone for the W800 on my PC which is running Windows Xp (SP 2). Everything installed ok and it also recognised my W800 and installed all the drivers when i plugged it in via the USB cable also the memory card which came up as a mass storage dive - removable disk drive F:/.

The problem i have is when i transfer MP3 albums using the Disc2phone software. I done a whole album containing 16 tracks and try to safely remove the hardware from Windows as i get a error "The generic volume cannot be stopped right now" and therefore i have to reset the computer to remove the USB from my phone as i am worried it may get courrped when i pull the cable while it still connected. It's then i noticed that 6 of the 16 tracks that i have transfered. I'm wondering what has happened to these other missing tracks and as they have been all transfered, would these 'invisiable' tracks taking up space my memory on the card?

Can anyone tell me what could be causing this and how to solve this problem?

Thanks.

EDIT: Hum, well i found a temporary solution in getting the rest of the tracks on the MP3/album section of the memory disk by copying it over straight to the removable disk in the folders where the MP3 folders are stored. It also allows me to remove the W800 removable drive safely.

According to some threads posted here.

The phone f/w R1N035 has a file transfer bug when using USB.

The solution they say is to upgrade your firmware or use the card reader.

If you search you will find more detail description.

Just search for "file transfer bug".

@ bongzino: I have the R1N035 F/W on my phone, but isn't that the lastest version?

Well, depite that my phone seems ok when i transfer small amount of mp3 files to phone and allows me to remove the hardware safely from the computer. I guess i can always use the other method i found to transfer the rest of the mp3's that missing after the transfer.

I also had my phone freeze/crash a couple of times when i tried to send a picture from my phone to my boy-friend's PC via the bluetooth but it works ok on mine. Guess it didnt like my boy-friend's bluetooth!

Hum, i also noticed tat there is a 'hissing' sound when playin the mp3's on the headphones as well while on a call. After searchin the forums i did c these r typical 'bugs' tat other W800 users found as well with this F/W. But i'm not 2 fussed with these minor probs as the fone is workin perfectly so wouldn't consider 2 do anythin 2 it [i.e upgrade the F/W 2 c if it improves it]. I will report anymore probs i find on my fone (which prob already been posted by other W800 owners).

Hum, my brother tried to send me a music video from his Nokia 6600 which saved itself to File manager -> Other but it didn't seem to want to play on my phone Why and is the compatibility differnet?

Hum, noticed quite a few bugs on my W800 now, but as long the phone works i don't mind these minor things!

Been using it well as already downloading new themes, ringtones/sounds, games and music to it! My battery life isn't that good, but may be cos it's still new and i have been using it quite alot! [expecially listening to the radio!]
