Someone, PLEASE help me before i lose my sanity...

since i got my t68i, i've been trying to get it's email client to work, to no avail...

FYI, i'm a smart communications subscriber, pre-paid (but i got my WAP/GPRS to work ) ...

you name it, i've tried it... i searched the manual for snippets of useful info, subscribd to different POP3 servers, but still no use... i even tried hotPOP...

So, i'll be waiting for someone to get me outta this predicament...

Thanks in advance, peace...

Have u checked ur pop3 and smtp settings?

You can only use email if you have SmartPC data account working. If you don't have it or it does not work because you're on pre-paid, you cannot use email. End of story.

Don't be a jackass. People here voluntarily help others. You can't force them to help you.

Patience is a virtue.

I don't know what's wrong with smart (as i'm a globe prepaid user with GPRS on ), but I had no problem setting up my email account.

Here's how i did it:

Messages > E-mail > Options > Edit Account:

1. Add new. Name it whatever you wish.
2. Select your account (I'm using Myrealbox pop mail)
3. Connect using > Select SmartGPRS (or whatever you named your GPRS service)
4. Protocol > POP3
5. Incoming server > pop.myrealbox.com (you have to know the incoming server of your provider)
6. Incoming port > Default 110
7. Mailbox > your login name
8. Password > well... your password.
9. Outgoing server (if you intend to reply to your mails with your phone) > smtp.globe.com.ph (you're smart so you need to know the outgoing smtp server of smart)
10. Outgoing Port > Default 10
11. Download > whether you want headers only or both header + text. headers + text will take a bit longer to download.

The rest, From name, etc. is pretty straight forward. And wholla! Email thru GPRS.

Oh, And la_perque, or something like that, if you know something that others dont, whats wrong with sharing it?
