Mensa test

Here goes the story: while surfing I got one of those "test your IQ" banner so I thought why not, just for fun. I came with 126, I couldn't believe it and found it ridiculous but it go me interested in the thing so I took 3 other tests from 3 different sites and all gave me around 125.

I still couldn't believe it so I took the pre-test from Mensa and I got 36 of 40 right in 27 minutes, the conclusion was "You will feel welcome to Mensa, you have high chances to pass the tests". Holy crap!

I'm ready to take the tests but they cost around 50€ which is a bit high for me, so I wanna ask if some had experiences with the test, if it's worth the money, how it goes and what you get at the end ?

Thanks in advance

Mind posting a link to the test?

I used http://www.mensa.fr/?action=admission_test, it's the french one but it's all about numbers and signs so language is not important.

As a former Mensa member, you get no real benefit from doing the test. You do get to meet some interesting people.

@vanquish: no it isn't, I'm just asking questions before I spit out the 50€ which might be uselless after all

You can do a Mensa test in English HERE

Quote:

This quiz is provided for entertainment purposes only; it is not an IQ test. This score will not qualify you for Mensa. The questions on the "Mensa Workout" are biased towards people whose primary language is English. Mensa offers culture-fair testing throughout the world. Many of the questions on the "Mensa Workout" require you to have a graphical browser. The test is still enjoyable for those with text-only browsers, but your overall score may be considerably lower than it might be with a graphical browser.

You have half an hour to answer 30 questions. Answers to the questions and discussion of the answers are provided at the time you submit your answers. While there is a 30-minute time limit to take the test, the amount of time you actually take in no way affects your final score. This is due to the differences in transmission times on the internet, and server loads. If you have metered access to the Internet, once the Mensa Workout page is fully loaded into your browser, if you wish, you may disconnect from the Internet. When you have completed the test, you can then reconnect to submit your answers and receive your score.
