yes, you can use your w800 camera while in flight mode...to do so, just press the arrow key until you reach the mode menu (the one where you choose to turn on telephone or just music)
once at that screen, you open your camera lens...it will bring you to the camera, without turning on the TF RF of the phone...so you will be able to take pics where u cant use a phone (like in an airplane)

yes it does...on both firmwares you guys said...
there's just a detail: it only works if you lock the keypad....
so, once on the menu, you lock your keys and then you open the slider...(or lens cover)
there you go!

Doesn't work on mine anymore. It did with R1N035 but I have just updated my firmware to R1AA008 and I have just tried several different ways including locking the phone but still no luck for me.
Great tip for those that can get it to work

I thought that i had tried every configuration to get the camera working. I've just read musse post and realised that i hadn't tried everything.
Switch your phone off and then back on, whilst in the startup menu before selecting startup phone or music only lock your phone then open your lens cover. It worked for me using R1AA008

It doesn't work with my W800. Mine is R1L002, and the ITP SW version is R1G.
It seems I still don't get it about the 'lock' thing. What do you guys mean by lock the keypad? I couldn't lock the keypad while in the start up menu.

Try selecting the Music mode and then lock your keypad. (* key then Lock)
It should work.

Looks like an old K750 firmware to me.
(My W800 has a different icon for the music mode, and it reads "Music only" instead of "Media Player".)

Nope. Doesn't work on the W900i. It won't allow you to lock the keypad with the slider switch but if you open the phone and press * then menu it does lock it but when you close the phone and press the camera button it says keypad locked press * menu to release (you can release lock with slider with phone closed) Shame that!

I just tried it on my K750 flashed to W800 on R1AA008 an I can tget the camera to work either...
I tried locking the keypad, then opening the camera cover in the opening option screen = didn't work
I tried the same but in the music player = didn't work either...
Any ideas?

You have to turn on the phine and dont do nothing until the it blocks itself in that moment open the camera cover

initially it did not work for me also. I started the phone, selected the music player option and started a song. SInce I have given "automatic key pad" on, my key pad was locked in a short while. After that when I opened the camera shutter, the camera got activated. The camera does not get activated unless the key pad is locked.
I do not know what is the software/firmware in my 800i

you dont get the click either
turn to silent mode (#)
turn of phone
turn on phone
at menu lock keypad
and open cameralense
and voila no shuttersound....

and i just discovered, that on mine the camera only works in flightmode until I go into the walkman menu. After that I have to actually start the phone fully before I use the camera again in flight mode.
So it's rather limited useage
, although better than nothing.
