Movie budgets are getting bigger and bigger, but spending millions to produce a film is no guarantee it’ll be a box office success.
King Kong will grace the silver screen for a third time today. But rather then set the studio back an estimated £5.8 million (2005 pounds), as Merian C. Cooper's original did in 1933, the latest remake will cost more than 20 times as much. Production costs alone on Peter Jackson's version were £117 million, making it the sixth most expensive film ever made by Hollywood.
The average cost of a Hollywood film was almost £34.7 million in 2004, nearly double the average cost from a decade earlier, according to the Motion Picture Association of America.

It costs heavier when dream comes true. Titanic for example, when viewing the first time we might have missed lot of minute visual effects. That, we accept on 2nd trip.

meth - I was looking at the bit at the start and i dont agree with some of the figures (im a media studies student and ive been studying the hollywoord and brittish film industry over the past few weeks) I believe the average holly wood budget was achually over 100m, and the bristtich was about 30m (I can get the figures I was given laterif you like)

The first figures are in US dollers, so if your talking about pounds then thats about right.
