TotalMultiserver released the new firmware of the W900i, you can unbrand it now...etc.

I tried to update it, the main file is corrupted, i get some error "load stream problem".
I reported to the team, i hope they will fix, cuz i really need to get rid of the chinese language.

Yeah, I noticed but the main file is corrupted....

I better wait for Davinci or Setool to releases these files.

there is an option built in to the w900i where u can update the h/set though gprs just go to setting then general and there is an opition the for update service this will then download any firmware updates for you or tell you that the h/set is up to date.

Totalserver has the worst customer service ever. they never reply.

Can anyone tell me if manually updating vodafone contract phones voids any form of warranty/insurance?

Posted by hragsarkissian
I updated the firmware to the newer version R5AF001.

I did not notice any changes

Hello people,

I followed hragsarkissian's footsteps and went to www.totalmultiserver.com and tried to upgrade the firmwire so that the W900i will support multiple letter contact list search...

I tried using the DCU-60 cable... but then the flashing failed... I tried using the three available firmwares.... EU-EMEA, CHINA, and VODAPHONE, but they all failed to flash the W900i completely....

Now when I turn my phone on... it says "Configuration Error, Please contact your network operator or service centre"

I think the firmware I need to flash my phone with is:
W900_R5AF001_ZONE_1_EU-EMEA.W95
and the language file is:
W900_EU5_EN_IT_FR_DE.W9D

My phone's original version is:
Firmware: R5AC011
PRGCXC1250252_CHINA_SA R5AC011

Now according to a rep at multiserver...
"You need USB FTDI based cable for these new W900 hardware revisions which are being imported from asia."

I was under the impression that the DCU-60 that came with the W900i will be sufficient to flash the phone with the EU firmware...

If anybody have any experience with flashing with totalmultiserver please provide with some advice so I can regain the use of my phone..

Thank you very much...

I am having exactly the same issue, I can flash the firmware file perfectly, but the language files cause issues, and when you boot up the phone you get the 'configuration error' screen.
I have tried numerous combinations of the firmware and language files, but all give the same error.

I am getting some help from the support at total server, and they are looking into whether the hardware has changed, and getting back to me, they have been pretty good so far.

I'll keep this updated

regards

David

Few questions:

1. Is the problem with the W900i/DCU-60 & TotalMultiserver now fixed? Does the EMEA firmware now work?

2. Which of the EU region language packs should one choose or does it not really matter (obviously I need EN in there)?

3. If I update the firmware (to EMEA region) with TMS will I be able to use SEUS II in the future (my handset is SIM free, but is currently running China region firmware)?

Thanks. As it happens I already have a Davinci credit.

Next question is which CDA to use?

It is currently CDA102418/101 R1A
Current firmware is R5AC011 APAC_1

What should I use if I am going to flash with EU2 firmware?

Anybody know whether the China R5AF001 firmware supports multiple letter contact list search? Thanks

two methods to unlock W900i

easiest option is by vodafone code cost £12 - £20

although I used other tools to unlock & debrand it, but it takes a long time to do a testpoint on W900i

when i tried to debrand my w900 i couldnt do it for ages then had to download flash drivers for dcu 60 and it worked fine this may be your problem

Hi, can anyone help me to unlock my new W900i? And also, I need to do a firmware upgrade. SonyEricssonUpdateService does not seem to want to do it. Any help? I live in South Africa, and it is a bit hard for me to buy credits on Davinci and so on. Any help?
