hi spartan, i am using nokia6021 handset, bluetooth connection and mozilla browser in my pc. i tried ur trick but unable to connect, when i tried to dial second acc. *99***2#, the error msg hardware failure in the modem or conecting device. pls guide me....is it must to try on handset bfor i try any site on my pc??? for triying that, the data connection with my pc needs to be disconnected. can u help me plzzz???/ i am a new to this forum

Which one should i use as Modem to connect???

Modem Properties > Advanced > Should i use the extra initialization comand??? If yes what should i use?

What should i select maximum port speed ??? 115200 ???

After create a dial up connection go to My Computer > My Network Places > View network connections > Dial up
Right click the Dial up connection > properties a new window will pop-up ( Internet properties ) in that General Tab > configure
Maximum speed ??? What should i select?

What number should i dial ? if all the three number are possible to dial... i mean if all the three number are connectable in an area?

What is ur Download & upload Speed in day time?
What is ur Download & upload speed during night hours?

Last but not the least....
Using Internet for long hours thru mobil will cause any damage to the phone?? Or does it get over heat & burn ??????

@stayback. I got W550i and i ll try to some of ur queries.
1. Leave everything unchecked
2 . You must fill up these settings and proxy must be enabled. 100.1.200.99 and port is 8080 . Select air1
3. Select air2 and disable proxy
4. Use usb wmc modem
5. Not needed
6. Select the maximum available
7. Select the maximum
8. Its better to dial *99***1#
9. It varies dependin on voice traffic in ur area. Maximum download speed i get is 56k and upload is slower than that
10. It tends to get heated up but i dont suppose it would damage the phone. I only use it for 20 hours of internet in a day:)

@stayback, jingboyx has answered all your questions satisfactorily. However, you did mention that you have enabled airtel mms as well, so you probably will have 3 data accounts in total on your phone. So the number to dial would be *99***1#, 2#, or 3#. So try all these options and u will hit on the correct number.

Hey everybody. I wanna share info bout an alternate way to access ftp sites using spartan's trick besides using your-freedom proxy tunneler. I think most ppl already know bout it:) . There is a free web based ftp client service at www.net2ftp.com . You can upload, download and modify files there. To download large files you gotta use flashget or somethin similar. It works on any browser. They even have a wap based ftp client. Just type the above address in ur phone wap browser for that.

Its working here in mumbai.Its working on my 3200 with just one profile of airtel live.Here are the settings- gateway ip address: 0.0.0.0 proxy server address: 100.1.200.99 proxy port number: 8080 access point name:airtelmms.com same settings for opera will also work.No need to create 2different services, airtel live alone works.

sorry @stayback. I don't use airtel live as my main connection. Just go through the first few pages of this thread and the last 4 to 5 pages, you might get a solution.

i have to make 'try&try' process and sometimes it connects on phone , don't know about connecting with PC. i think 3220 has not many diff. with 3200.

Yes u can deposit... Once u deposit cheque in ur SBI account.. SBI will send cheque to HDFC for clearance.. and then HDFC will respond to SBI.. Then SBI will credit the amount in ur account.. This is process is common for all banks.. Duration may differ slightly.. Normally it takes 2 days for local cheque & 4 days for out station cheque...
For exact duration, you consult Help Desk in ur SBI branch...

@ stayback to access yahoomail and hotmail in ur connection settings where u define proxy and port settings ,there is an advanced button there check in the option use same proxy server for all protocols.I think it will solve ur problem.
For the attention of all single channel gprs access phone users (like nok 6020,6021,3200etc)u cannot access free net using spartan's trick with only airtel live activated.If somebody is using this trick on these phones it is bcoz of reasons
1.NOP is activated 4 them and r using airtelwap.com access point
2.airtelmms.com is still working for them
now the only trick tat work on these phones is the bruteforce method

In sunday's newspaper an official announcement came bout airtel launching 3G services in india .Will it in anyway affect this free trick??

You are right dude. We need to find an alternate hack to be on the safe side. But service providers like hutch and others charge for traffic which means even if we find a way to connect to a pc we ll still be charged for traffic. We need to find more tricks for Airtel atleast. By the way i have a question regarding spartan's method 2 (streaming technique) . . . Does this method rely on multichannel gprs? I dont think so cuz we can close the streaming player at the end and then can dial from the pc. So i guess ppl with no multichannel gprs on their phones can actually use this method to connect to pc. But i am yet to try it out as i dont have one such phone. What do you say alan. . .

@jinkybox if u can view live TV means u have a multichannel gprs enabled phone. Single channel gprs phones dont have a streaming player. So i think this trick wont help thos kinda phones .Any other tricks???????????

I can think of a trick for this but there is no way i can test it out since i dont own a single channeled gprs phone. Anyway let me propose this so that others can try it out and let me know. Remember its only a theoretical idea and never been tested before. So it might hardly work:)
1. First dial up from the pc using an Airtel live account.
2. Once connected, start realplayer on ur comp.
3. Dont configure realplayer to use Airtel proxy.
4. Now type the following url in the realplayer
rtsp://100.1.200.213/rtpencoder/aajtak.sdp
I suppose realplayer should now start playing the aajtak channel live. Realplayer supports rtsp content . So i think it should play the tv now.
5. Once the tv starts, pause the tv but dont close the realplayer .
6. Try surfing some webpage on ur computer browser. Of course the browser must be configured to use airtel proxy as well.
I hope it works but i still doubt it. So i request someone with single channel gprs phone to try this out and post the result.

the method for single channel gprs didnt works.
the address for aaj tak is not valid.
one thing u people didnt realise that u multichannel guyz are able to connect using spartan method bcauz u use 2 different ports at a same time while single channel users are only able to use 1 port at a time.
so if single channel users connect in pc and use the jingboyx method it still uses only a single port not 2.so it is not possible in this way.
so brutforce is only method for singlechannel guyz.

i have a nokia 3220, and yeah its a single channeled gprs phone!! but it is edge enabled! i don't know if that helps in makin any progress!
btw i have tried various proxies but to no avail!
i tried 100.1.200.16 port 80
also 100.1.200.16 8080
but nothin helps!!

Using spartan's method 2, I am able to successful browse using my Nokia 6630 and Opera 8.51 combination, but I guess it uses the Airtel Live proxy.
Is there any way that I can use / run non-browser based applications ? e.g. mig33 or any messenger application?

I have SE T610.I have tried Spartran's trick but what happens actually when i connect My PC to T610 thru Dial up networking.It gets connected & it shows 115.2 KBPS speed.Then i try to open any site on my mobile it does not say "Access Denied" but it shows"Communication error,contact your WAP service provider".
after that if i try to open the site on my PC it does not get opened.
Whats the prob actually why i am not able to get access denied on my mobile.
I have tried this trick on Nokia 6600 it was working well.what to do.Please tell me the settings for T610.although i have done the settings manually withthe help of customer care.Airtel live is going well on my T610.
