Yes. Both are same. But email clients doesn't work as the POP3 & FTP are blocked. For that, you have to use Mobile Office.

No need to use any commands. Just create a normal dial-up connection and dial *99***1#. Don't forget to put airtelmms.com under Menu->Tools->Settings->Connection->Packet Data->Access Point.

hope all of u are havin a whale of atime usin thsi great discovery of spartan n alan ds bro.hats off1ce again to all the guys here for their prolific work in enriching this thread.i have since d last 2 mnths dwnloaded 500mb of stuff wid ds hack.
By the way im 4m maharashtra usin 6670 with the accesspoint airtelfun.com.
everything wrks fine for me but speeds wander around 5-6kbps max.at nite time get 10kbps max.
moreover despite usin your freedom cudnt login to chat from yahoo msgr.also Your freedom many times terminates connection in between.
sometimes the applications go haywire when it says in message window uplink failed reconnecting to 100.1.200.99:8080
can ny1 suggest a remedy.
ive fully configured your freedm by spartans method.
exams r near so wil hv to discntinu thsi but hope it continues to work wen i get bak by july.

i just used the command that was provided by me when i activated a paid mobile office.
i just changed it to airtelmms.com and done.
i configrd my firefox and actually i m posting from this conn.
i also configrg my flashget to use 100.1.200.99 : 8080 and it also works
prob: Y! msngr does not work even after config.

Just wanted to report that spartan's method 2 is working on se J300i also. Today i tried this method on my mom's J300i which only has Airtel live subscription . I could access full internet and even got opera mini to work on it:-) .

To work with Y! Messenger, you should have atleast 45kbps. I think you have already configured proxy settings in that too.

i'm not using the airtel trick to access gprs.... i have got "your freedom" up and running...but its showing BAD_AUTH:Authentication failed...
what could be wrong?
same category as that of Dr.Dweep.... yahoo messenger works without "your freedom" but does not enter chat rooms..

Hi rahul. First create 2 data accounts with Airtel live settings. Make the first one as the active wap profile and the second one as the active profile for streaming. Now goto Airtel streaming page and load some tv . . . Either cnbc or aajtak. Once it loads or even if it gives an error, just close the streamin player and you ll return back to the wap page. Now type any internet address other than Airtel homepage and you ll be able to connect. Now go to opera mini page... Either official or the mod page. And download the opera mini. Once downloaded it ll ask if you wanna start . . . Just say yes and opera mini opens and you can browse any page. Remember you must follow the above mentioned steps exactly coz this is the only way you can keep a wap page on while you start a java app. The above steps may sound too tedious and long but its actually simple and wont take you more than a minute to complete:-) .

i am using MO, and want to changed to this trick.But
I think, my 3220 misses multichannel GPRS, so FREE trick not possible. if possible please tell me about it .
i'm thinking to buy a new set if 3220 is not working with trick. it's motorola L6 or SE K700i. DO you guys please tell me about their multichannel support and speeds? i am using MO and it's bad speed in WB whereas 3220 supports EDGE.

I've rehashed spartan's first and third post in this thread into 1. I just followed these instructions yesterday and it worked on a w550i I had in my possession.
I would advice you to delete your old settings,restart the phone and create new accounts.
ACTIVATE AIRTEL LIVE BY CALLING UP CUSTOMER CARE.
Create two data accounts and two profiles with the settings below exactly.
Under DATA COMM

PASSWORD : blank
PASS REQ : OFF
ALLOW CALLS : AUTOMATIC
IPADDRESS :
DNSADDRESS :
DATA COMP : OFF

Under INTERNET PROFILES

INTERNET MODE : HTTP or WAP (both worked for me)
USE PROXY : YES
IP ADDRESS : 100.1.200.99
PORT : 8080
USERNAME :
PASSWORD :
1) Connect your mobile to the PC (or Laptop) and install the driver for
your mobile's modem.
2) Create a new dial-up connection using the NEW CONNECTION
WIZARD as follows
Connecting Device : Your mobile's modem
ISP Name : Airtel (or anything you like)
Phone Number : *99***2#
Username and Password : blank
3) Configure your browser and download manager to use the proxy
100.1.200.99 and port 8080.( My advice is to use Opera since you
can browse both wap and regular websites)
4) Connect to the dial-up account. You will be connected at 115.2
kbps (but remember, that is a bad joke).
5) Pick up your mobile and try to access any site. You will get "Access
Denied..."(except for Airtel Live!). IT DOES NOT MATTER.
Keep the mobile down. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!!!!.
6 ) On the PC ( or Laptop) open your browser, enter any address ,
press ENTER and.......WAIT
7) After a few seconds the page will start to load and you have the
WHOLE internet at your disposal.

I got a query 4 all the free airtel live gprs users...do U guys get edge speeds if Ur handset is edge enabled ??? I don't mind paying 360 bucks a month that I m paying 2 get download speeds of 23KB/s but the ip sharing that Airtel does to us Mobile Office users is killing me...it is a miracle to get 2 download from rapid & mega...but since not many would be using the ip 100.1.200.99 of the live...it would be easy 2 download 4m those site...only if I get edge speeds...Thnxxx.
