HI GUYS
I WANT TO USE MY NOKIA 6600 AS BLUETOOTH MODEM AND CONNECT INTERNET TO MY PC.I AM USING AIRTEL LIFETIME PREPAID CONNECTON.
WHENEVER I DIAL *99# SYMBOL 'G' STARTS BLINKING ON MY MOBILE
AND DIALOG SHOWS "REGISTERING COMPUTER ONTO NETWORK" SUDDENLY 'G ' DISAPPEARS AND EVERY THING GETS DISCONNECTED. I AM
ABLE TO CONNECT AIRTEL LIVE IN MY CELLPHONE.I WANT TO CONNECT INTERNET TO MY PC.SO PLS HELP ME .PLS GIVE ME THE ENTIRE PROCEDURE
TO CONNECT MY PC AND TO COONECT TO FREE AIRTEL GPRS ,USE IT AS INTERNET CONNECTION.

Regarding opera. We are unable to browse in opera because it uses an another proxy server which cant be connected through apn Airtelfun.com .... Try this version of opera http://rangers.wen.ru/opera.wml then go to extramenu settings and change the proxy server address to 100.1.200.99 ... I think this will work . Give it a try... I didnt tried because i dont have a s60 now with me

Opera 8.51 is working fine on my both 6630 & 6630 using airtelfun.com. So why you need to use other versions? I have already posted the rick in the forum.

Your post clearly indicates that your phone doesn't support multi-channel GPRS. You may try Opera Mini to open bookmark when u make connection. But working chances are very low. If it not works, create 2 Airtel LIVE accounts and set first one as default. Set second account as default in Opera Mini and see whether it works or not.

hi pratik patel,
Just u need is data cable DKU-5 or CA-42 for nokia 3220 and modem drivers of 3220 mobile (u can get them from nokia site if u dont have currently)
just connect mobile with PC
Now when phone is detected and installed on computer then install modem drivers.
Finally enter *99***1# for dial no. when making new connection thru new connection wizard.
I have used no extra initializing string..
open google.com in mobile browser.
U will get "no server access"
immediately connect connection from PC.
U will be connected.
Once u r connected on pc u can open any site on pc(much many) .
I recommend u to use OPERA internet browser on PC.

Hey desmatakas i tried your method but it failedi can access sites which i can normally do with Airtel livesorry for the trouble but can you exactly tell at which point do i have to use my mobile browser and when should i start the connection i will be highly thankful

yup i tried and said no when it had asked to quit the data connection. but the i was able 2 surf only sites which 1 can frm airtel live...............

@kongman. I dont think free mobile wap works in tamil area. You can use only thrust mode. Try with atel live settings to access other sites. One out of six may click.

you have to access your phone wap after you dial in. it will give an error msg and only after u get that error message can you browse on the pc.

man y r u crying....try try and try u wil get it.i configured the tchnigue for my frnds nokia 3220 ..and its wrking.u create the accounts(2 airtel accounts) under the personal configuration and it wil definitely wrk.....

@kongman. There is one more way. When u connect to all sites by tryin,don't disconnect.I mean close all apps but keep connection active.It doesn't take too much battery

For the Mms settings go to nokia.com and from there you can get the settings for Mms. I am from up and the charges are Rs. 5 per Mms. 2 activate Mms send Mms to 646. This will surely help... Otherwise you can pm me....

i am new to this forum topic i have some other methods similar to those of SPARTAN i name him wizard and ALAN he a genius. Simple but sharp. Hats of both of u. Now i need to know two things 1) what is the maximum size of the file can be downloaded. And if can be done by download manager what are the settings proxy etc etc... 2) in mobile using airtel live the connection disconnects itself when kept ideal sometime say 5-8min. I have tried to access the airtel gprs from my pc, but it didn't connect, my cell is k750i, i did what spartan117 has told in his posts and dialed from my pc, it says connected and my cellphone shows the globe as connected symbol but when i try to open any site form my ie6 or firefox browser it says page cannot be displayed. I don't know what to do with this error, i am trying for the past 2 days

Guys especially the newcomers,this method is based on a simple technique. Connect using airtel live settings.Try connecting to a site.U will get no server access. Keep the connection on.connect thru another application using another settings which is a clone of 1st settings only name is diff.Try connecting to a site.It will also give error. Now try connecting thru 1st connection.It will connect.

The rest is easy for u as u r so tech friendly! Just change acc to ur needs,technique is same for cell or pc. And guys do ask questions but please don't ask basic questions like how to connect,please help etc. Most questions have already been answered. Feel free to ask if u have advanced probs like initialisation or something.
