Ok buddy, i'll give it a try.. Know what in my state up.. The only settings which works are 211 and mms apn and that too not always, the max speeds which i get are 4 kBps.. Thats so terrible.. Am thinking of going the paid way if the airtel people can promise me great speeds.. Is here anyone using mo in up?

U dont need to dload any additionl sw. just dload that .torrent using flashget and fget will take care of the rest. these days i prefer to dload frm torrents rather than filesharing sites like rs...

I thought i would share this info with u. Perhaps u might have tried this already. I recently tried and got successful doing multiple dialups using a single phone. I could dial from 2 laptops to the same phone over bluetooth and browse on both laptops simultaneously. But for this u need to set indivdual data a/c on ur fone for each pc. Moreover u need to setup 2 different types of modem connection. so the modem configuration differs from pc1 to pc2. I ll explain how to configure now.
PC 1 : Nothing new to configure here. Lets say u have a pc with a bluetooth dongle installed on it and u dial *99***1# on bluetooth DUN modem to get connected.
PC 2 : First u need to enable serial port over bluetooth and lets assume u have enabled com5 serial port over bluetooth. Now u must manually install a Standard modem using control panel>add/remove hardware on COM5 serial port. Remember windows will not detect this modem, so u have to enable the option (Dont detect my modem, i ll select from list) on the modem adding dialog. And then select Standard modem. Once the modem is installed , u shud create a new dial up connection using this modem and pointing to a different data a/c on ur mobile. So lets assume the dial up number is *99***2# in this case.
Now u shud be able to dial from both the PC at the same time and U will be able to browse simultaneously. In other words your mobile is now functioning like a Wireless router
I have tested this with 2 laptops ( one with dongle attached and another with onboard BT) and it worked flawlessly. And the speeds were pretty decent too. I advise u to try this on a EDGE network. Moreover , I presume we shud be able to add more than 2 PCs by adding a serial BT modem and a seperate data a/c in the above mentioned fashion. And btw I used a W300i for this. @jing no offence, and i don't mean to be repetitive.. But just for the sake of info for others.. By doing so.. The negative effects will be that.. Your phone battery will go down much faster, moreover the speeds will be divided between the number of pcs connected.
Now a food for thought for all, this idea just hit me.. What if we clone an airtel sim.. And then use two mobiles and bridge connections on the pc .. Are we going to get double speeds- like if we get 8kBps from a single sim.. Then will we get 8kBps x 2=16kBps.. From two sims..(cloned + original)

1-i used it on a lan with the hlp of a proxy software n usd single cnction on five p.c. Bt speet is only 1 to 1.5 KBps devided to all.
2-Then i used it on two pc.s wid infrared n serial cable n mobile wap browser also opend

Bt its not helpful mch untill u hav 3g or atleast gd speed edge. Minimum 30 KBps..

There s nothing to feel bad bout this dude. Even thought I heard bout torrents for d first time in 2004, I downloaded my first torrent file only a few months ago. This link will explain how the torrents work and the description of various terminologies used by them.

Despite the complexity of the torrent system, it works relatively faster than a direct http download under ideal conditions. now I prefer this rather than hunting for files on filesharing sites.
And regarding mutiple dialups, yes the speed is d problem unless the mobile is on a good edge connection. As for me, it works pretty good on both PCs just for browsing.

What about the graphics card details? I dont see it in the specs dude.. I think, for a 50 k laptop there should be atleast a ATI or Geforce grafix card with minimum 128 dedicated grafix ram. I strongly advise u against buying one with Intel grafix accelerators... they are pathetic. Pls confirm this info as this cannot be upgraded later. As for the processor and HD, they all look fine
Another thing is the screen. A 14" tft widescreen may look a lil small. I am saying this because i find my 15.4 widescreen a lil smaller than a normal 15" tft(not widescreen) . But a smaller screen means less weight, easily movable and long battery life. It depends on ur use. The battery on my lappy isnt that great. Its a general issue that the core2 duo processors consume heavy power and mine lasts for only around 1.5 to 2 hrs under constant usage with wifi and BT enabled.
I personally feel that u could find a lappy with more goodies at around the 50k range.
If u could PM me ur email id , i will send u a detailed current feature/price list of HP/compaq (may 2007) lappies given to me by my salesperson.
The other best option might be Dell Inspiron. The only down thing about Dell is that most of their lappies com with Intel grafix cards. but their prices are very competitive. So if u arent into grafix and gaming, u could opt for Dell.
