@msum, first disconnect your phone from the pc. Then goto Control Panel -> Phone and Modem Options -> Modems ->(Your phone modem, i.e., 6610i) and click on remove. Then reconnect your phone to the pc and xp should automatically detect and install the drivers for you and hopefully the correct COM port too.

1) Modem Installation :
After installing modem, when u got to the properties and press "query Modem" in diagnostics tab, you should get this. I'm showing you the results from my Nokia 6630.
2) Creating Dial-up connection using the installed Nokia Modem :-
IMPORTANT NOTE : Before installing modem, you must disconnect from PC Suite. Otherwise your serial port will not listed in the Add Hardware Wizard.

First disconnect from other Internet connections.
Then open Firefox, then go to Tools->Options and then click "Connection Settings" and do the same thing which is seen in the screenshot below.

Check the settings on your mobile . Probably you have not given the APN as airtelfun.com

I think you have not configured access point in the mobile. So go to "Connectivity" in the main menu. There you should see a option like "Access point in use". Enter airtelfun.com.

@alan i'm having trouble with my 7250i, it gets stuck at the registering your computer screen and then disconnects giving a connection error. But there is no problem with my T310 and K700. Is really necessary to install the nokia suite? BTW i'm trying to configure mobile office and not spartan's free gprs. Any help appreciated.

Hi msum,
The error can mean only one thing. You have not tried to access any site on your mobile AFTER the connection is established.
What you have to do is, once the connection is established, pick up the mobile and try to access any site from the bookmarks.(ie.) Click the Globe icon and select any site.
Tell me if you get some message like "you need to disconnect the previous connection" or something like that.

Did you enter the proxy server address under "Proxy settings" ?
I have just finished testing it , it works flawlessly.
To use Your Freedom with any application you just need to enter 'loclhost' under proxy server and '8080' under port.
Just take a look at my 'Your Freedom' post and make sure you have followed everything correctly.

Yes you can improve your connection speed by changing a few parameters in the Req QoS.
Sony Ericsson Mobile Networking Wizard has an option for this. I don't know about Samsung mobiles.
BUT, you can do it using Hyperterminal. I have had good results with my
F500i. All you need to is to find the sweet spot or your connection may suffer.

hai, i got a trick to solve the data transfer issue. some times while you connected there is no data transfer . To solve this problem, just browse the airtel live page of your phone. you will get data transfer again in pc.

spartan am using gaim messenger sometimes it shows the err proxy server forbids port 5050 tunelling wht is is wrong....
