To open zip files in phones, softwares like Zipman should be installed. But about wav files, don't know. May be you should try a soft format.

@hac_king i did the mauj hacking thing. Actually it was a child's play so i won't even call it hacking. Btw i did it in ten minutes.(could have done faster if the connection was faster). Btw do check out the secret question and answer of maujadmin. It really sucks.

In 500 plan, Rs. 500 is the rent for broadband. In addition to it are 180 rupees as tel. rent plus call charges as applicable.

Monthly bill amounts to about 800 rupees for Dataone 500 plan on an average for optimum use. Not much given the fact that you have might unlimited. You can easily download atleast 50 GB per month. Since download speeds are around 200 kBps = 12 MB per minute = 720 MB per hour. Now let us deem it as 500 MB per hour, given many factors. That for 3 hours a day = 1.5 GB, for 30 days = around 50 GB.
Purely practical.
Please note that this estimation is for normal users, not for hardcore guys, which most of us are.

You must be very rich to pay more than Rs.1000 per month. But most of us aren't! That's y we people are using Free Internet tricks like our Free GPRS. b/w My internet connection is also not bad. . Another benefit which makes it worth, it's 1:1, 512 down and 512 up, so excellent for torrents and good latencies and pings for gaming and watching p2p tv like tvu.

Download between 2am and 8am is not charged. Meaning it is free 100%. And speeds depend on the load on the system. It can be as high as 245 kBps in low BB density areas, and can stoop to around 75 kBps in overloaded regions. Since my place is among the former, i get download speeds of around 225 kBps consistently. And upload speed is around 50 kBps.
And that 50 rupees per month tel. plan has not started in all regions yet. May be in calcut. only.

i am also in d same category dude. the only mode of internet available for me is via airtel and hutch gprs. hutch is way too expensive and i mostly depend on airtel free gprs and nop. i live 20 km outside d city and no broadband at my place. 15 to 18 mb is the max i can dload in an hour
i can only hope tat atleast airtel starts edge at my place. . btw is ther any hopes of seeing hsdpa in india? ? sony ericsson has announced to release hsdpa mobiles z750 in india which can offer wireless internet upto 10 mbps. but wil ther be any hsdpa providers in india ?

Dude, for time being, I recommend you the same plan that I'm using now. It's offered via CDMA technology (just like reliance rconnect) by BSNL. But speed is much more better than reliance. If you have bsnl landline, you can get it very easily. Only 250 per month(fixed charge). No extra charges. The plan code is CDMA 2000-1X

My Live is working fine. I connected it after a long time. Just my MO was down yesterday so I connected Live and wow its was working fine. I am MO user and now speed isnt as much as it was when I purchased few months ago, Now Downloading speed just 22-23 KB/Sec only. Uploading 12 KB/Sec. Just Enjoying MO because they arent charging me from few months, I dont know why.
As speed is important for me as torrent user especially uploading I will shift to BSNL Broadband Home 500 Plan Next month.

I have applied for BB finally Home 500 Plan yesterday. I dont know when they will come to install they said it may take 7 to 10 days, just I cant wait anymore. Dont understand why they need more time to connect when I have already BSNL phone. They should to just come with modem and just install and register my user ID.

Broadband has to be activated on your number, just like GPRS is activated on the mobile. So it takes some time.
BSNL people will provide you with the modem. It will come bundled with an adapter, usb cable, lan cable, connecting tel. wires, adsl splitter.
Now first insert the incoming telephone line directly into the splitter (line), and then connect the phone and modem wires on the other end of the splitter with their other ends in the phone and modem resp.
Now connect the lan cable between the lan card and the modem.
Now switch on the modem. You will see three green lights come on, one by one, first the power light, then the lan light and finally after some time the link light.
This link light is similar to the 'G' symbol on our phones. It tell us when the BB is up...
Now go to control panel and in network connections, create a new connection, a broadband connection which uses a username and pass.
Enter the service name as BSNL etc. and enter your username and pass on the following screen.
Press connect and you are done.
To check your account usage and change your pass, which i suggest you should do ASAP, go to dataone.in, click on check your account usage, you will be redirected, enter your username and pass. And you enter. Then click on the change pass and service records to change pass and check your usage respectively.
And there is no need to install the modem. But if you don't have a lan card then you have to connect through usb and will need to install the modem.
In the 500 plan you'll get 2.5 GB free up/down load. And download is free between 2am and 8am. By download we also mean surfing 'coz to open a webpage you need to download data. I hope that you know that.
