You use the joystick < >
and the star *
Do this :
> * < < * < *
Then you got the servicemenu,..go into the first one.
Here it should say one of these :
R1B
R1C
R2A
These are the current software versions, R2A is the newest.
Upgrade of sotware is free of charge,..just find an Ericsson service point. They will upgrade the phone,..you cant do this yourself.

Can anyone help. I have a t68 upgraded to t68i software. Everynow and again i dont seem to be able to get a good signal even though previously in the same place signal was ok. Is there anyway i can get better signal through codes etc. (i know you could do it on nokias but it affected your battery life)?

no there aren't any codes for it... not even for Nokia... you are probably thinking of the code for EFR (Enhanced Full rate) for increased sound quality, which will not help you in this case. Which sw version do you have?

might help with a software update.... R2B025 is an old version and contained quite alot of errors...

Hm. My t68i says R2E006.
How old is that, and should i hurry down to get it upgraded?
Also, when the software is updated do you loose the data in the phone?

if it's working without any problem there is no need to hurry to upgrade it...
you will not loose anything if nothing happens during the upgrade... but it's always safe to backup your phonebook before...

i got r2e and i am not upgrading it... too risky...

Hey!
Will a upgrade delete sms counter and the joystick counter? will it be reset to 0?

As Cytec says, do a back up before an upgrade. Just in case anything should happen. Most likely you will be OK, but you never know...

I understand.
