Samsung E530 Predictive Text Question

I recieved this phone today but I can't seem to be able to turn the predictive text permanantly on. Everytime I go to write a new message its turned itself off again and it's driving me mad. Does anyone know how to make sure it stays on because there's nothing in the manual to help me.
