right I have one hear for the master, I have my mighty mouse, but its pissing me right off because all you can do is use the dashboard etc!
Is there anyway to program buttons 3/4 to do things like back? I really need to find this out otherwise I gota sell this thing.

Don't you just go into System Prefs., then click Mouse & Keyboard, and you should be able to configure the buttons in there. If not, just use the finder to help you...
On a similar question though, this may seem pretty stupid, but I can't get the trackpad on a Macbook Pro to double-clcik when I double-tap the pad. The button thing annoys me, so this is quite important. Any help would be great!

Ok after scouring the nest I managed to find some obscure program that does it, although its new (ish) it seemd quite hard to find, its called steer mouse
and now i have my mighty mouse working nicely (may even get a wirless one)
I have left and right click, then side button is my show all windows (had to use the f6 key for that (seemed pretty useless anyway on the mbp) and my wheel click is back

i plug a memory card in my memory card reader, plug it in a usb port on my mac... up pops the card on the desktop, i open it, trash the files i dont want, yet the space doesnt become free??
why the hell not?
i have to farmat the card everytime and its a ball ache...
any ideas?

Yeag, just remember to Empty the trash after dragging files to it. On a Mac, just dragging files to the Trash moves them to a hidden folder called Trashes on the same disk, so that you can retrieve them later if you wish. To reclaim the space used by these files, you actually have to Empty the Trash. (Just like at home really!!).
Also, if your memory card devices have lots of ._ and DS_Store files on them when you put them back in the phone/camera/PSP etc. have a look at http://mobile.feisar.com/utilities.html for some utilities that clear these files. They're just used by the Mac for custom icons, window positons etc. and are useless on the other device. I use BlueHarvest and CleanUpNonMacDisks.

my powerbook keeps resetting the clock back to 1970 every time i switch it off.
and says that programs may start acting erratically.
any ideas why this would happen/how to fix it?

@ dicky, it sounds like you may need to reset your power management, thats probally the best thing to try

It may need a new backup clock battery. They last about 3 years. Contact your local Apple Service Centre for a replacement.

Uno problemo!
Right i have some rar files so i double click one of them to begin extraction and stuffit expander opens and starts to extract. It will get right near to the end and then it just stays there forever, and when i say forever i have left it running for 5 hours.
What the hell is wrong with it i have opened many files before and now this happens, it is not even a huge file and the application is fine it is not like it has stopped responding or anything.

use adium, or possibly even a reeboot, as if your using the original msn it uses ms code

yeah i just pushed the tempo to 150 from 135 and it doesnt make much difference, it sounds rushed. ill keep in mind to record some at higher tempos.
i put it together in like an hour so giving more time i could create something really quite good i think

Mac SMC update today.
People are saying the mooing is gone, the fans switch on at lower temps and an over all 10-15 c drop in temp!

it's around 700kb, it should show up as SMC 1.0
I just installed it and my laptop is around 3C cooler, but I now hear the fan, never used to unless it kicked in.
However, the laptop still feels as hot

tried to mount using toast but it wont do it as its a windows fomatted iso i presume...

but when i burn it to dvd.. it literally just puts the iso on the the disc... i then have to open it using finder (it opens isos! i was well impressed) but thee idea of an iso is... theres files contained in this iso and when you burn it to dvd then should appear on the dvd as files...

My fathers macbook pro keeps closing down all internet based applications when run and the programs crash.
We have tried a re-install numerous things, ran a hard ware test etc alls fine on that side. Normal non internet bassed applications work fine with no troubles....
any ideas? Really dont want to have to ship it off as hes moving to spain in just over 3 weeks
any thing you can sugeest I would be most gratefull

nah the built in isight aint high enough quality then you have to resize them etc,
I did it with one of mine but with a 8mpx camera, much easier to use a photo booth lol
