No he was'nt actually into martial arts in real life,that was just part of acting career and what he was obviously so well known for.

Looking at IMDB he had a good life (stared in 103 films not to mention other tv projects).

it is sad that he passed away. He was trually a great actor.
one karate move i remember was the "crane move" which he taught daniel on the beach. That was some move.

@icewinds - Nice post mate! I think in a way that those DVD titles, Karate Kid series, will be SOLD out in the shelves because of his demise, just like when the legendary - Bruce Lee died in the 70's. I never knew that the pretty Elizabeth Shue was included in the flick

As I've been watching CNN about this news, it was featured there that the late Pat Morito was also included in a major 'cartoon' movie (voice-over) . . . and I just forgot the title of that one
