Yup, exactly as the title says just randomly doesn't detect the card anymore, so I thought no biggie i'll format it in the card reader, so I tried and you guessed it nope.

Then I thought, ah I fixed my other one in my PSP..... no.

K750i? Nope.

Another W800i? Nope.

I'm fresh out of ideas HELP PLEASE!

*distant voice*

()use the warrenty()

p.s. otherwise re-format the card in fat16 mode and see if it can detect that! can your pc detect the card also?

P.C. Can't detect the card

I don't want to send my card away having just got my phone, am I going to have to?

Happened to mine the first time I tried to transfer anything to it, so went back to Orange, and as it was only 4 days old, they sent out another brand new one, this one is able to transfer stuff, but hates bluetooth connections to headsets, so will wait for a software update to fix this.

aww I know you must be sad, but a sledgehammer can turn this into this within two minutes!

if you haven't got a sledgehammer readily available then I guess we should try and help you fix your problem

I had this strange problem, and for me it was a stupid solution! When you insert the card into your PC do it very very very slowly, sounds silly I know, but as soon as you here the noise like *ding* when windows detects it (if that happens if not I'll have a think about that) stop pushing it in, then see if windows see's it!

with me, for some stupid reason, my card reader wouldn't recognise the card if it was fully pushed in. yet it saw the card if it was all but a few millimetres in very confusing but worth a try I guess!

I heard there was ones with dodgey firmware, mine being one of them R1N035 I think, looks like it'll have to go back

Thanks for trying to help defensive, but that didn't work

Been into the o2 store and they said I should sent it back to o2, who will issue me with a brand new phone card everything, so I suppose it should be O.K.

good good, at least the warrenty has got your back covered then! bit annoying thought not having a memory card for a few days until your new one arrives but suppose at least its getting fixed.

Posted by Ericssonkid
Yea, they want me to send the whole phone away to O2?

Ahhh! It's only the memory card thats broken

Oh well...

Thanks for all the help people!

don't do it! well I wouldn't anyway.. if they want the whole phone back, make sure they send you a replacement for use during the time they have yours. as its a manufacturing fault and not a user fault they should do this.

let us know how it all goes anyway mate.

Thank's mate for the helpful posts, I've been reading a lot on these forums and your always helping out! A+

With mine, Orange sent out a brand new phone in the box with all the stuff it came with, but only wanted the old handset and battery back plus charger, so I was left with a brand new boxed W800i, and the box headset card (which was now dead anyway) manuals and CD. If SE have not released a new version of software before my 28 days are up, I hope my W800i still works, as it will be a recondtioned phone that gets sent out after that. This one seems to be working OK so far, but I have not tried the 512mb card that came with the new phone, I am instead using a gaming 512 card, that came with my PSP, so far it has worked OK and I have been able to transfer three albums on to it so far, with little or no problems. Did have the problem of it only transfering certain songs off a full album, but once I deleted all the songs and tried again, it was fine. This new phone is also running R1N035 the same as the one that went back. SE told me to send the faulty card back to thier service center, and I should get a replacement one from them.

Thanks for the info volvo man! I really hope get a firmware update out soon!

Result! I keep the phone and o2 are sending me out another one free until this new one arrives then have 28 days to send my "broken" one back.

Posted by Ericssonkid
