heyy all - theres HUGE sale everywhere tomorrow - and im going to buy a new computer... neither are great... but i want one. which do you two think?
Toshiba Intel Celeron M processor 370 Notebook with DVD/CD-rw Combo drive, only 256mb DDR2 memory, 40GB hard drive, integrated 802.11g wireless lan, and ATI RADEON X200M graphics. Price - 380 USB (normal 750 USD)
OR
E-machienes Intel Celeron D processor 340 with 17 inch flatscreen monitor (NOT FLAT PANEL), dvd/cd-RW COMBO DRIVE, 80gb HARD DRIVE, only 256 DDR memory and media reader. Price - 150 USD (normal 500 USD)
keeping in mind - i dont NEED a laptop for any particular reason, it would jsut be cool to have the laptop, but it has less memory, and it mre expendive (220USD more). Keeping in mind I have a wireless network and also have a PDA... neither are great computers (expecially with 256 DDR memory)...
please help all! what do u think?

I was going to recommend you the Laptop but since you dont need one then there's no option than to go for the e-machine.

thanks!

I reccomend getting the emachines, i have had very good experiance with them. They are very stable and when it comes to restoring windows it does it really fast and doenst install other crap....Yea am looking at you packard bell.

thanks
i think thats the one im gettin...
pretty cheap too.

Wish you the best of luck.

Very quickly, DDR2 is supposed to be twice as fast as DDR but it's unlikely that you'd notice any difference in real terms.
Celeron M is simply the mobile version of the Celeron chip, it consumes less power.
Whilst I'd prefer a Toshiba over an emachines any day, the emachines seems the best deal here. If you stick another 256Mb of memory in it, you'll end up with quite a nice little computer

@ecs - H m m m, so you've looked for another store
ECS and I had some exchange of pms early this week as I want to confirm from a member who lives in the US (presently ONLINE too at that time) to check about the Motorola V3 on SALE at Walmart for only US$ 88.00, if it's - PAYG or under CONTRACT/PLAN, as it's really a 'fat chance' of getting it, since my sister is presently vacationing in San Ramon, California. i never got ahold of one
all sold out... checked other stores, and they havent got computers back in stock yet haha. most of them will have more monday, but the sales wont be NEARLY as good as those were.
but @JN at Best Buy I saw the black V3 on 2 year contrace for 40 USD. It wasnt on that one website though.
Posted by *Jojo*
@ecs - The Motorola V3 for US$ 40.00 is cheap I guess matey
Posted by EastCoastStar
no :-\ I dont need another phone haha.
I already have my personal one on Cingular (s710), then I have a Nextel for work, and a Verizon wireless for my other job! 3 phones is enough haha
Posted by *Jojo*
@ecs - I agree ! Is the SALE still ONGOING at your end? I thought it was just a ONE day SALE . . . . Black Friday !
Posted by EastCoastStar
It was a one day sale
however, there are still VERY good sales from now until christmas. but black friday just has the best sales. (50-80% off of many things!, but without black friday its only about 30-40% off, which is still very good!)
Posted by *Jojo*
@ecs - So you did not get any during the Friday sale? Not even an M&M candy
Posted by EastCoastStar
oh i definatley got stuff
I almost bought an audiovox DVD player with 5 speaker surround sound for 50 USD, but forgot abotu it
