I've always wondered is this concept true, u could have a fully big built man with tons of muscle and he was also a boxer who knew how to punch to get most power out of it , then there was a little skinny guy no boxing experince or not much muscle.
Two guys meet in an ally who would win the big muscle or little guy ?
Lets say this little guy was quite hard, and hard punch would it be possible for the little person to hit harder?
Always wondered this.

Have you ever heard that size does'nt matter, well thats also true in this case.Even if your are of a smaller build with right skills and practice it is quite possible to hurt or injure a stronger opponent not to mention bags of confidence. With martial arts "Tai Chi" techniques overpowering a stronger person is is quite easily done.

The big guy has a greater mass, so he'll be able to put much more force in his punch with less effort than the small guy, ie; the big guys gonna whip the little guys arse! Its quite a logical outcome. Think of the schoolyard, have u ever seen a little whimp kick the crap out of a big bully? No.

ok I've studied Ramla (I dont know the english word) it's an Arabian martial art.
I studied getting out of a situation where my friend has studied grapling.

We're both not big, he's taller and skinnier, but he made a muscley black guy give up in 6 minutes.
It took him 53 minutes to get me in a situation.
I made that other guy that he took out, give up in 16 minutes, because I exhausted him.

So size does matter depending on what angle you approach it by.

9 times out of ten the big guys punch is going to be harder mainly due to his boxing training. However in odd occassions i guess it is possible for a much smaller guy to just naturally have a very strong punch. But the odds are stacked agains this so know who i would put my money on!

although in terms of wining a fight small guys have a number of advantages not least their greater mobility and often quicker speed etc so if a small guy fights clever he can sure win a fight.

but as i said first if we are just talking about the actual force of the punch then i would def go with the big guy!

What im also trying to say ask is could a small guys punch be harder if he just naturally has it?

yes the smaller guys punch could be harder. but given the situation descibed. the more skilled of the two would win, nothing to do with size. the unskilled guy will always have a punchers chance but the person with skill will probably be able to anticipate and know how to cover and counter punch

I don't think its a matter of how hard your punch is its more to do with what part of the body you strike...if your the weaker person then always go for the most sensitive area i.e: Nose, groin, also use your elbow in the chest which is very effective...but to answer your question i have seen some small people with a very strong right hook.

It does matter about the power in the punch, u ever been hit in face in a fight by someone in a fight? trust me it hurts if the person hits hard as you'll black out, wen u wake up ull be in intensive care.

Now lets change the situation a bit small man knows how to fight hes had a couple of street fights and knocked a few people out in one punch.

why do we have a thread dedicated to violence?

Posted by axxxr
Not really violence,i think the original intention was more about self defence.

Does every topic on this forum have to be socially and morally anethatised? Its a topic about attack and defence, not violence.

its also kind of scientific, if the little man can hit harder its mysterious why he can. Is it just natural and know one can explain ?

Punching power has little to do with strength unless the guy punching is absolutely huge of course. When it comes to people of the same size though its all about technique used. My friend does Tae Kwon Doe but is very skinny and tall but yet he can hit harder than most people I know.

power is often generated by technic. hence you see people able to break wood concrete etc with short swift blows.
so you could be the biggest strongest person in the world but if you dont know how to harness you power and strength its fairly useless in a fight enviroment

Power (Body-wise) = Speed x Strength

That determines that.

Obviously, technique comes in and all that jazz. The short guy could be more agile etc.

The skinny guy would probably have smaller hands, meaning more pressure, well, so long as his hands had a decent-ish mass.

Size doesn't matter, at all

i just got it if uve got a lot of muscle on your arm however much u try if the little guy is as skilled as u he will always hit faster, faster u hit more powerful the shot is so the force comming from little guy could be a lot more that the force from the big guy.

the kind of power built in a large guys punch is quite different from a small guys punch.

Large people normally develop power out of their mass so their punch could probably be described more of a "heavy punch". Their structure and heavy build usually doesn't allow them to develop speed so their punch is slow but heavy.

Smaller guys can develop power by proper form and speed. Form is very essential as it involves the coordination of the whole body to transfer force from one part of the body to the other and ultimately end up in the punch. Coupled with speed, a small guy can deliver a powerful, more focused punch which, IMO, can even give more damage than a slugger's "heavy punch".

Ofcourse you can bet on the big guy to win. But, when necessity arises, an ant too can be a big threat to the big big elephant. :-)

The bigga you are the harder you fall

Ok lets just say if your a little guy going in for a fight with a big man and you dont think u have a chance. it wud be sensible to take a pair of knuckle dusters with you.
