i recomend if available, any Brand with AMD (Athlon or turion) 64 bit processor its much better runs cooler compare to Intel, 32 bit processor and it runs hotter. hope thats help choicing your laptop.
BRAND name is just for preferential satisfaction, if you have a previous good experience with Sony Brand laptop product of course you want to buy a Vaio! Speaking of Vaio I have mine for almost five years, I mean every day to work or anywhere I go I got my laptop with me and still in good shape never breakdown or even a scratch. But I need to retire my laptop this year for a better one.

paano yan I'm a MS user but i got plenty of time to learn MAC.
Intel is an excellent processor no doubt about that but only 32 bit for home PC except for Server Platform 64 bit dual core. i was hoping AMD will use 64 bit dual core processor for the laptops but then the heat factor.
I wouldn't worry so much about that since one of my desktop is an AMD athlon 64bit dual core 4200+.

well, from college up to now MS na ang ginagamit ko and it wasn't too bad.
theres always room for improvement, MAC will be an add on (soon) for my so called PC knowledge.

re: 64 bit, not all software have been ported to the new platform. and Microsoft does not recommend using WOW64- Windows 32 on Windows 64 for those who don't know what that acronym stands for.

i think its time to give it a shot to learn MAC.
i guess i have to convert one of my PC. for what I know on the hard drive structure, MAC it formats inward I mean from outside the media inward, thus MS is outward.
a week or so I will be like walking on the parkway, may be not!

Yeah...sad to say but yes...as a mac user, we are waiting for the release of the new Intel-based Mac machines to be announce this month during the MACWorld Conference event next week.
For those softwares not ported to the new platform, the workaround is to use "Rosetta" which is a translation technology that will enable programs made for PowerPC Macs to run with the Intel-base Macs.

unfortunately im working for a company rooted on MS technologies- SQL 7, .NET, SharePoint, etc so working on a mac is no option
cant wait for the intel macs tho..Apple is not doing anything to prevent dual-booting Win/OSX on the same mac box
on another note, I just noticed..for the W810 people have been saying it's 3G but ive been staring at the pic, i dont see a frontside cam ?!?

kabuks... video call service of 3g doesnt necessarily need a cam infront of the phone... just like 6630..
but 1 thing is really needed.. a headset (wired or wireless) coz you have to make some distance between you and the phone

Galore, nabili mo na ba laptop mo? kita ko specs hindi talaga pang gaming. it is a basic laptop na pang internet at pang basic productivity. Importante kasi ang video card para sa graphics para enjoy mo yun mga most recent games. Pero kung mas pipiliin mo mobility at connectivity sa internet then go for it. Pero kung games? Sa 60K or less pwede ka na bumili ng isang kick ass na gaming desktop na kayang gawin lahat ng gusto mong ipagawa. d mo lang madadala
Marino, yun Aurora 5500 ko naka AMD 64 din kaso single core lang. Gusto ko din mag dual core kaso mas ok pa din daw single core sa gaming.

Ang mabagal i-port ay yung mga applications, like MS Office at kung ano ano pa... and obviously there are 64-bit versions in the horizon. But it will need time for the 32-bit apps to be fully optimized for the 64-bit platform.
