eulogy.. i think you can buy anywhere since u wont be needing the warranty... just be careful when selecting the units, they might replace some parts or accessories....
and dont let them know what you are a tourist, they might jack up the price.

As far as I know you need a 3g capable sim before you can use the 3G service provided by Globe. However, as of now it is still under testing.

so your simcard was able to use gprs/mms
can you confirm that the phone can do gprs and mms? before?
baka naka network locked your phone, like the vodafone/tmobile/cingular branded.
