nope, but if you want to backup all your contacts in your phone in one file just do the following:

Open the contacts, then select "send this folder" by (ir, bt, mms), cancel the send process, use a filemanager and go to the "mail" folder on the c-drive and look for the all.vcf file in one of the subdirectories. You can export this file to your ms-duo, pc or another (se) phone and it contains all your contacts with the assigned pics (not ringtones!).

@deliciosomarron

Thanks for the tips.

However, the problam is I only have contact.cdb in my PC (no P900 on hand, it goes repair center...) Therefore, I want extract my contact information from that file, so can transfer to my temporary Nokia phone. Any idea on the solution? Thanks!

Mmm try to install Brokia PC Suite software for PC and look if you can import ur cdb file to it.

you can import it into excel, (import a comma separated data file) but it does come out very very messy. the data is all there though, it's *just* a question of sorting through the junk

I think Contac Manager can do the trick.

It exports your contacts to a .csv file.

I use it to backup my contacts. I tested restore several times and it works oke.

@evdk
Thanks for the software, but it is Symbian base software (sis), now I only have PC and "contact.cdb" file, I need PC software to read it.

One nice thingy: use UIQ 2.x emulator You can use all your contacts/Jotter notes/Calendar entries, etc in it just like in a regular phone:)

We are just setting up a data rescue service. Please send your contacts.cdb file to our support address, and you will get a vCard text file that can be read by various PC software or imported by a phone.

I do not think that ANY special 'rescue service' is needed;) Just do as I say - use UIQ emulator from UIQ SDK (you can get it for free from SE site). Put the Contacts.cdb file into the emulator's system/data/ dir and export it from there:)
Data privacy;P

You make it sound so simple!
It's not. The emulator is in the SDK. It's a big download, a pain in the ass to install and properly setup and in the end if you are not persistent you end up giving up.

I have just sent my .cdb file to lisa at cellphonesoft.com.
I'll tell you how it goes

UIQ SDK is about 200MB, but its worth downloading. You also can download Moto A925 SDK (~50MB only). There is really nothing to set up if you use A925 SDK, and almost nothing to set up in plain UIQ SDK.

Its his choice, anyway;) I wouldn't send my private data to ANY company.

We have sent back to you your contact data converted into vCard form days ago. Did you receive it?

And one more question about contacts.cdb: how to delete this file from the P800 ? Due to synchronisation issues sometimes contacts in phone are doubled and this is very inconvenient. Any ideas ?
_ _ _ _

Have found the problem solution myself using only Outlook and Ericsson Comm Suite for P800 Problem solved

But Lisa at CPS sorted it!

I now have all my contacts back!
Yeah!

Lisa and the gang at CPS are all ALRIGHT!

Posted by albatross
Is Lisa still here? I am still looking for some tools or service that could convert the contacts.cdb file into CSV file so it can be read by PC application. Many Thanks!

Posted by Zed@CPS
Yes, we are here and can do conversions. Contacted you via Email.

Hi all,

I know that the thread is too old, yet, I do have the same problem. I've my contacts.cdb file on my computer and I need to convert it to VCF format to import it to my new Nokia E61i.

Kindly if anyone can help me whether by telling me what program can do the job or take the file and convert it to VCF for me, I will be thankful.

Thank you all in advance.
