Hi

I'm trying to burn a cd for my girlfriend with some files in mp3 format from my mp3 player. She has a stereo that doesn't play mp3 files burnt onto cd. Can anyone tell me what format they should be converted to to play on a normal cd player?

Can you also suggest any free software that can do this as well?

thanks

@beeb u'll have to burn the mp3s to audio cd format. Nero can do that.

audio cd format? what's that? is that like WAV?

is there any free software that can do that?

Itunes - www.itunes.com - is probably the easiest to use for burning Audio CDs, and it's free

Audio CD format is where the mp3 files are converted and burned to the disk in the same format that music CDs that you buy in a shop use, rather than burning individual mp3 or wav files to a disk. Most ordinary CD players can't play mp3 or wav files that have been burned directly to a disk.

You may be runing into problems because some older CD players refuse to play recordable cd's regardless of format

she can play copies I've made of my cd's but just not mp3 files. Is there any free software that I can use? I tried the itunes link but didn't work and don't you have to pay for nero?

does anyone know how many songs I could fit onto a cd using this method?

cheers

Try the itunes link again later or do a google search for it to bring up a mirror site, it is the one you want

You get the same amount of music on a CDR as you get on an audio CD, i.e around 70 minutes worth. Obviously the amount of tracks you get on depends on how long each track is.

then make a playlist with all the songs you want and then burn it to a cd.. its easiet way
