Take your sim out, clean the chip and put it back in, or turn the phone off and on first see if that works.

had a similar thing on my k700i said inactive sim. fact was the sim card was a bit of an old one and not compatible with the phone. this could be the problem you are having

Well i got the same problem but in my case ive gone from a orange contract to a orange pay as you go and its a new sim card but even though ives registered the sim and my old phone again its giving me this "inactive sim" ive also tried other sim cards in the phone and it works for a while untill i turn off the phone and switch it back on.
Im thinking that when i finished with my contract plan with orange they must of switch the phone off and made it inactive remotly.

Sim Inactive message most of the times means that your phone's IMEI is blacklisted by your country's operators.

It could be if you're migrating from a contract to payg you have to wait till the contract sim is deactivated before Orange will activate the payg sim. If it's not still working after a couple of days contact Orange.

Another reason you can get this message is if your service is suspended.

I had it recently because I am on pre-paid, and despite the fact I had recharged a couple of days before, it was shut off because the time to use the previous credit had expired.

I'm pretty sure I got the new credit before the old one was out of time, but it would have been close. Maybe someone's software was set a bit enthusiastically. Anyway, just called them up & sorted it.
