I'm contemplating on getting me this mobile handset. I am having 2nd thoughts though if it's really worth it, as the guy I asked from a local network said that only a handful applied for it under contract I saw the specs and thought that it's a good one, more on MP3 thing, like that of the W800i, can be compared 'head-on'. Members who already owns this one can post their experiences (good or bad) with this handset here. Please advise. Many thanks !

@JN Is this motorola of third generation?

Posted by *Jojo*
@schob - I am assuming here that what you meant by - third generation is . . . . 3G Looking at the specs, I don't think it is.

Posted by BobaFett
@jn according my moto experiences, i wouldnt go for it. except e1000 most models had lots of fw bugs, crap batt and mainly, no support...

Posted by *Jojo*
@bobafett - I respect on your opinion about that. But basing on my experience with the V60i-style and it's simple features (old model), I am really pleased using it despite it's oldness . . . I even managed to get 3 V60i's on different occasions, maybe that's why I really LOVE this fone. I am contemplating either the E680i or the V3, will be getting it under contract - SOON!

itsa kind of a1000 clone, right?

Posted by *Jojo*
@bobafett - I'm not certain though 'Will access the specs of the a1000 in the net first . . .

a bit different housing and a1 is umts. it looks for me, that e680i is the "simple" version of it

Posted by *Jojo*
@bobafett - Yup, the physical feature looks like the same . . . and a bit 'advance' with the specs. I was just wonderin' why this model is a bit advance with that of the E680i when the latter was released . . . later

its a moto, dont try to understand the logic behind a decision...

Posted by *Jojo*
@bobafett - Since the E680i looks a bit 'late' when it comes to specs when compared 'head-on' with the a1000 So, I decided to get the ONE in between the TWO (since I don't SEE any of the A1000's out here ) . . . . a Motorola A780 ! It has a lot of accessories in the BOX (what I liked) like 2 batts etc. Will just scan the fone and stylus first

very poor design imo, why dont u go for a1000? it looks at least more serious...

@bobafett - Well honestly, I haven't SEEN a Moto A1000 near my place mate Well if you find the LOOKS least more - SERIOUS, well that's fine pal, as I am NOT that serious when I bought it Just 'feeling' the touch of a 'newer' Moto fone dude (used with my vintage V60i that's why) . . . I think this is one of the latest in my place (though 2004-2005 manufactured). I wonder which is the latest between the A780 and the RAZR

this design would have been interesting ca 5 years ago. listen, i had some umts motos in the last time. a925 and a1000 has got p900 fw in it. e1000 has the most beautiful screen i ever seen. unfortunately moto batts are only acceptable, not the best. the moto fw is very instable, full of bugs ( for example when the fone is turned off, u put in the batt and it turns on auto ). all these gives weak points for the moto, more then disturbing in a smart. anyway, give a try for a1000 and forget this toy 680 or whatever.

@jn u should wait for moto e1120

i have e1000 again, it has a damn good joy and a very good keypad.

@jn its time for a short review, dont u think?

Posted by *Jojo*
@bobafett - Whaaaaaat you already OWN that Moto E1000 model post some pics or say something about the - FEEL matey I like the E680i more than this one (E1120), looks like one of those Siemens - S65 1.3 MP camfone dude. Also, am quite certain that the price when released will still be - 'unbearable'. I'll just keep you posted if I will manage to get me this Moto E680i pal. The A780 is keeping up with my expectations everytime I use it, specially when taking pics (indoors/outdoors). Post some pics taken from your Moto E1000 Boba !

Also, it's NOT my cup of TEA making mobile fones/gadgets - 'reviews' mate. I'll just keep that to the EXPERTS . . . Movie reviews perhaps

Posted by BobaFett
i sole the moto. had one already in the summer for ca 2 monthes. do liked the keypad and the screen, but thats all. batt is crap. maybe i go for e1120 when its out, we ll see.

Posted by *Jojo*
@bobafett - Now, I do quite agree about your pronouncement that Motorola fones have short battery life With the A780 that I got, I was wonderin' why it has a spare battery that comes with the package On a normal use the battery only lasts about 2-3 days, with minimal calls and about 30 SMS a day and 8 (5 min. calls) / day . . . I guess this E680i has also a spare batt that comes along with the package so goes with the latest models . . . I am not that sure about the V3-RAZR model . . .

Posted by BobaFett
moto batts are very weak, weird, that once next to /// and nokia, moto was the 3rd biggest mobile brand, but in the last years, they awsnt able to create an accepteable battery. two put usually 2 batts in the box is a very primitive solution, but probably cheaper, instead of using the brains at moto...
