Anyone know where i can get a Punjabi font for Microsoft word 2000, my computer is windows 2000. I.e i type on an english keyboard, but appears in punjabi on the screen?
All i need to know how to write is "Happy Birthday" in Punjabi, as i am making a banner; i am planning to make a template of the word which i can then trace around etc
Any help is much appreciated!! Thanks

you mean you want a font that looks punjabi or you want to actually type in punjabi?
Finding a font that types in the 'pinyin' system is hard.
AFAIK only Chinese and OSX Arabic can be written in Pinyin.
You'll need to find a Punjabi IME

try this site above, also has a download for a punjabi font in .ttf format to drap and drop into your /windows/fonts folder to use in programs to display correctly

50 its not as easy as that, ive got all the punjabi fonts and they do work but not in the way that you are thinking. the punjabi letters will come up as you type but it doesnt translate, if you wrote happy birthday in punjabi font, it wouldnt say happy birthday in punjabi language if you get what i mean

yeh i get you, i can speak punjabi and know that if u directly translated it into english it would rele make sense, due to different work ordering etc
I have no idea how to write it though. I mean would the word "happy" for example be anything different from each corresponding punjabi letter joined up? i.e "h" "a" "p" "p" "y" or would it be entirely different?
