T610 Clock and Bluetooth

I keep my old T610 on a desktop charger with a built in speaker phone, which is really convenient. But the screen saver, (not the one I can set), is a simple digital clock. That is fine, but it every minute or two the thing moves position on the screen and lights up for a few seconds. It makes me constantly look over to see if I have a call coming in. Is there a way to get rid of it, or at least stop it moving?

Also, this thing is at least 2 years old. Is there a way to update the firmware or bluetooth stuff without having to send it in to Sony? I'm in Philly if that makes a diff...
