Well, woke up to a phone call from a friend of mine. I proceeded to answer, get up and make my way to the bathroom. Apon reaching the toilet and half way in use, the phone slipped out from the grip of my shouler and ear and plummited into the toilet
! I quickly reached in grabbed my phone and ripped the battery out. Ran to the store to get a tork rench and then after tedious work, dried it all off. I was hopeing it would work but no . When you put the battery in, this gray picture kinda flashes, from what I tell its the normal start up pic, but thats all it does. Flashes that for a bit, then makes sounds as if it was dying and sometimes the flash will come on and blink all sorts... Is this the end for my beloved K700i?! Or is there (which I think i already know the answer to) anything else I can do to have it work?

The phone is probably dead. Most water damaged phones that I have seen are dead and beyond repair.

I think it's dead...My phone has started acting up after moisture seeped through the battery...just imagine what happens when it gets dropped in the toilet.

Ah well this is upsetting, it really is. I wanted to buy a new phone but decided I would miss my k700 to much, oh well... Until I have money I guess ill use my old siemens, thanks for the replies guys...

The worst thing you can do is to try turning it on after "drying it" - when you think you have dried it, it isn't dry!
The best thing you can do is to take apart the phone and just leave it for a few days by a window or something (but not in direct sunlight or near a radiator), if it doesn't work after those few days then its unlikely to work agen. I know the temptation is to try turning it on (as you did) but thats likely to damage it more!

Well heres a question, the phone is still under warenty... If I send it back, would they fix it? Or would it being submerged void the warenty?

As far as i know liquid-damaged phones aren't covered under warranty, mate. Not in my country, at any rate...

why not try having it checked first before you make any conclusions that its really dead? Here in my country, technicians try to fix a wet unit. (unauthorized of course)

it's makes better sense to pay for repairs rather than lose your k700.

@private: The question whether it's repairable. Those eletronic components in the phone were probably fried when he tried to switch it back on.
This should be a valuable lesson to all...large doses of water are guarenteed to kill all cellphones.

But there's no harm in trying to repair it! I dropped my t230 into a bucketful of water and the poor thing survived. It was submerged completely! So imho, there is some chance.....

i had a t39i that has taken so much abuse over three years including a few total submerges (once in beer) some salty water, tropical rains, sand, countles drops on the floor etc.
As the man says, when it's wet you do not wan to turn it on, put it apart as much as you feel capable to and don't touch it as long as you can keep it in a dry aerated place.
not sure the k700 is anywhere as robust as the t39i. what i've done with my k750i is i've bought a special "universal" waterproof case, in which i put it when i'm out and it could be raining or when there are other chances it may get wet. of course that won't help if you use the bog while holding your phone with your shoulder (we all do that, but it's called a calculated risk).
