K750i Vodafone - 3rd party Email access settings

Hello - I am really hoping someone can help me out here as this phone is driving me mad. I have a k750i on Voda and I am trying to set up access to a pop3 email account (gmail, virgin.net or hotmail) but nothing i try seems to work.

can anyone give me a heads up on the settins i need for this or if it is even possible? I know voda have thier own Vodafone Mail which i can access thru voda live but this is far from ideal!
