Dead phone or easy firmware fix?

If a phone when turned on lights up and vibrates but then nothing, what is the problem usuallly?

Have come across similar situations earlier and usually a firmware reflash fixes the bug!

Unless it has been dropped, water logged or something, 'mostly' fixing the System files ought to do.
