My K850's up and running again. Service center replaced the LCD screen, which they said the cost would've been equivalent to buying a brand new basic phone. Thank God for warranties!

The K850 is real cool.
Compared to the slim 'n' slick W880 the K850 really looks like a battleship.
The K850 is still pocket friendly but there are a bulge in pockets of a pair of jeans. |

It's huge to hold all the power. It would burst if it was as slim as W880

unless it is a very cheap basic phone they are having a laugh! I had bust the lcd of my k850i, i managed to get a replacement screen for it from the internet for £20 and fix it myself....so its not really that expensive! |

The price they quoted me is roughly equivalent to 3 nokia 1280's.

Like a tank, ha ha ha.
I miss my old K850i. The Xenon eventually went and then it perished in a fire, god rest it's soul. I was snap happy when I had this.

Same here - very happy I had the K850i.
My only gripes was how slow the transition was for various UI actions (much slower than early SE UI's of the K750 of old); in particular camera transitions for features, capacitive touch buttons were very hard to accurately use consistently and most was that oval D-Pad without centre selection. It was a novel and innovative idea but man the D-Pad was harsh on the finger tips! the numerical buttons as well over a few short months. I wish a softer compound would've been used by SonyEricsson.
I personally feel this was almost entirely a Sony phone!
I just found an M2 card which I had when my son was 7 yrs old and most likely has a LOT of picture memories of us together so I'll be on the eBay hunt to purchase this since I don't have any adapter for M2 to USB or SD reader. Oddly enough, the K850i supported both MicroSD and M2 which I wonder if this was Sony throughing in the towel for their proprietary cards??
